Last Boo Hoo show in 2010

Hej Friends!

The last Boo Hoo Show in 2010, which will be the 30st Boo Hoo show this year, the 67th Boo Hoo show in total and the 23rd Boo Hoo show with Amelie on board. So it's many jubilees involving mostly uneven numbers! yay!
The show will go down at "Arts Club Sinkkasten" in Frankfurt. A cosy place in the middle of town. Boo Hoo will play as a part of the "VirusMusikRadioShow" Festival.
Sometime around 9pm. The show will be broadcasted live on Radio-X, so be sure to tune in!

I'm proud to announce that the first 180 copies of "Afghan Hounds" are sold, and I'm even more glad for the overwhelming feedback some of you have provided me with! Thanks!

From now on available: The special Christmas Edition of "Afghan Hounds". Each CD comes with a golden glimmer and an extra amount of christmas magic...(wow, that sounds great!)
This special edition is going to be available this sunday at the last Boo Hoo show of the year at "Arts Club Sinkkasten", at the No2 record store in Frankfurt or directly from me!

Boo Hoo News @ Rote Raupe, December 2010

"im Frühjahr 2010 reiste Bernhard "Boo Hoo" Karakoulakis nach Brooklyn, um mit der Hilfe von Andrew Hoepfner (Creaky Boards), Phoebe Kreutz, Julie LaMendola und anderen Mitgliedern der dortigen Antifolk-Gemeinde den Nachfolger seines hervorragenden Debütalbums Hypermarché aufzunehmen.

Afghan Hounds nennt sich das neue Werk des Frankfurters, der einmal mehr mit liebenswert zusammengeschustertem Folk-Pop und so großartigen Songtiteln wie “Madonna´s Greatest Hits”, “The Great Blackout of ´84” oder “Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown?” begeistert.



Ebenso gut gelungen wie die Musik ist auch das Cover-Artwork von Piwi, mit dem Boo Hoo im nächsten Jahr ein gemeinsames Projekt starten wird. Details sind noch keine bekannt, aber angeblich geht es “unter anderem um alles“. Man darf also gespannt sein…"

Happy Birthday, Woody Allen!

Dear Woody,

Since it's your 75th birthday today, I want wish you all the best for a lot more years of making hilarious movies. Happy Birthday Woody! We all know, you want to be immortal, not in art, but by not dying. But in case the that doesn't work out, I wrote you a song sometime ago, that will bring you a little closer to immortality, at least in the art of the tiny antifolk pop song. And in case not dying does work out, it'll still be a good song to listen to every once in a while to spice up eternity. It was recorded on your beloved hometown, Brooklyn, which I learned to love, while I was there earlier this year. The second voice on the song belongs to wonderful Andrew Hoepfner (You should check out his music too, if you find time!)
The Song is about you, me and Alvin Singer from Anni Hall having fun on an airplane, that is eventually the same machine that crashes somewhere in Mexico earlier in the song. It sounds scarier, than it actually is. Your glasses are part of the song too.
I really like them, even though I don't want to make the same mistake as a lot of people make nowadays by just wearing Woody Allen style Glasses, without having the face or the heart to wear them with dignity. That's why I don't wear Woody Allen Glasses, but write Woody Allen Songs!
